The Lady Warriors finished their dual match season last week with a win over Mesa High. Their dual match season record is a very impressive 10 wins and 4 losses in both Varsity and JV competition.

On Thursday, October 16th the Varsity team competed in the East Valley Regional Tournament! Lauren Kyle took top honors with a 2nd place finish. Kiersten McWilliams also earned a medal by placing 4th in the singles competition. The doubles team of Chelsie Knight and Alison Cantley placed 4th and won a trip to the State competition. Westwood qualified more individuals than any other team in the East Valley.

Saturday October 18th, the 9th ranked Warriors took on the 8th ranked Mesquite Wildcats at Mountain Pointe High School in the first round of the State Playoffs. With impressive wins from Lauren, Kiersten, Alison and Merced, the Warriors beat Mesquite to advance to the quarter finals. The Lady Warriors met #1 ranked Mountain Pointe and lost with an admirable fight!

The team looks forward to Friday, October 24th as they compete in the Individual State Tournament!
