Beef Stew

(A meal cooked in a crock pot with the main ingredients of beef, carrots, potatoes, and mixed vegetables.)

1 pound stewing meat or beef cut into cubes
5 cups Water
1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Water
1 1/2 teaspoons Brown Gravy Mix or add more flour, instead of using gravy mix
1 package Beef Stew Mix or seasoning salt; if desired
4 Carrots
4 Potatoes
Mixed Vegetables; if desired

Note: You can use more carrots and potatoes if you do not want to use mixed vegetables.
If you do not have brown gravy mix, you can add more flour to the recipe.
Also, if you do not have beef stew mix you can use some other type of seasoning salt in the recipe.

Brown meat with some water in a frying pan.
Reserve the extra liquid from the meat for part of the water amount in the stew.
Peel carrots and potatoes.
In crock pot, place a half cup of water and then a half cup of flour.
Mix with spoon.
Add brown gravy mix and beef stew mix and stir.
Add meat into crock pot.
Add remaining water and mixed vegetables.
Cook 4 to 6 hours on high.
You may need turn the crock pot on low after 3 hours or less; so it does not boil over.
The stew may only take one more hour after it has been turned down.
Makes a small crock pot size amount of stew.
For a larger crock pot; add more of each ingredient.
